Eton Mess

Fruit dessert – Eton Mess

It's full spring, at least when it comes to the state of nature. Unfortunately, the temperature leaves something to be desired. Jem (a bit) less sweets and I already craved fresh fruit. Of course I can buy strawberries from Egypt or raspberries from Chile, but I do not want. I'll wait for the local. Fortunately, there are frozen foods.

Eton Mess is a traditional English served dessert, as the name suggests, at the elite Eton College, during the annual cricket tournament. It consists of whipped cream, meringues and summer fruit, usually strawberries. This I found out from Wikipedia, a recipe, I saw in Nigella different fruit versions, Jamie Oliver and most recently Sophie Dhal. If we use ready-made meringues, dessert gets in 5 minutes. As I mentioned, I used frozen raspberries, I used them to make a kind of thick sauce, which I poured cream with meringue.

Eton Mess

basically any proportions, I used:
200ml of cream 30%
3/4 glasses of frozen raspberries
3 ready meringues
1-2 spoons of sugar
I boiled the raspberries in a little water with sugar (if we have fresh fruit, this step should be skipped) and I got cold. I whipped the cream, I mix it with crushed meringue and pour raspberry sauce.
And already. Serve immediately.
