Fontignac pots

Fontignac pots – opinions

There is a new promotion in the intermarche – collecting stickers for fontignac pots. I started collecting these stickers, however, I wonder if these pots are worthwhile? You have your own experiences and opinions related to this?

Gosia:I am also thinking about buying them. I already have collected stickers, even if you miss something, then I can give back the excess (I buy large purchases in Inter, hence my number of stickers). Returning to fontignac pots, I have not found any opinions about them. I was visiting their French side, but I didn't find prices there either, the pots in the gallery didn't look like the ones in Inter Marche either. Fontignac pots look neat, but all in all, their set is not that cheap either (525 PLN). Recently, when I watched Masterchef, it seemed to me that their pots had the Fontignac inscription… I have to see it well in the next episode. If I saw it correctly, I will buy them ... because they would not cook on anything on TV 😉 best regards!

Ania:First, I bought one pot of fontignac and compared it with my MG ( the company of Marta Gesler). Comparable quality. The cooking time on the ceramic plate is similar, keeping cooking on range 30 % power – in both cases. The average price of an MG pot is approx. 300 PLN, so taking advantage of the promotion (stickers) I recognized, that it is worth buying another two. And that's enough !
In intermarches, you can buy much cheaper steel pots of good quality, but fontignacs are definitely nicer.

Ania:I bought these pots, although I also had doubts before buying them. I bought 2 pcs -5 lithium and pan . I am very potent. satisfied. I was dipping apples in them – did not burn. I'm making soups , pie – nothing extraordinary happens with the pots. The lack of steam extraction in the lid does not interfere with use. I wash in the dishwasher- sometimes there are plans after washing, but after rinsing the dish with water and wiping, they disappear. ( anyway, it is described in the manual that it may be there). I haven't used the frying pan yet. So I won't give you a hint on how to use it. According to the instructions, it should not be washed in a dishwasher. I think I will buy one more 2 smaller pots of this form.

Tomasz:I have a set of fontignac knives from before 3 years, I haven't had to sharpen yet. I bought it now 2 pots 3,7 l., the pan, which I used to make Hungarian goulash yesterday (it's like a large saucepan – weighs approx 2 kg, but with Teflon) and a saucepan (that's all for now, I have a lot of stickers). AWESOME and I will not agree, that comparable quality pots from other companies can be purchased much cheaper on the Internet. If I helped, I am happy and best regards.

Roman:The argument about TV fails because they don't do anything for free there. Since they were cooking on them, they got it for advertising. The prices are nowhere to be found, because the interka took care of it. It's a big network and it doesn't sell bids, that can be easily pried open. For example. a small porch is said to cost 229,99 PLN. and you get it for 69,99 PLN. Who covers the difference?. She's not here. This lower price is the real value of this pot plus the seller's margin. This is my opinion. On the shelves there are similar pots, Fr. 60% cheaper. These for sure I can stand over 5 years then the costly looking ones of fontignac have to endure over 15 years and you struggle with a sooty pot. This is just my opinion. I'm going to buy a frying pan anyway – a friend bought it, she is a cook and she stated, it's worth it.

Robert:The origin of the pots is China !!! Each pot package has information in Polish – white sticker. Don't be fooled. greetings.

Christina:Not worth it! It was only at home that I noticed their disastrous structure. You cannot hold the ear with one hand, the ears are too big. And they don't have holes in the lids. The pan is cool, but gary – do something.

Strawberry:I bought one 3.7l pot. It is heavy, reliable. After one subsidy, I have such comments, the lid does not have a steam outlet, I don't know if it's necessary. My other pots have one. there is a cooking stain on the bottom of the pan, it was not removed by washing in the dishwasher. The handles heat up during cooking. For now, I don't know if the pot is worth the money.

Natalia:In fact, the price of such a garage -1pc. should be PLN 160-230. I bought 20 years ago in Germany, a set such as Intermarche offers for the price of PLN 1,500.
The pan can not be burnt with Teflon, then it is not as before. You cook – you watch the dishes. Working in the kitchen is just not the internet…
I have an identical since 20 years with Silit. Stood 18/10 surgical (the same diameters and heights and thus the capacity). Decent pots – are made of thick steel 1 mm and that's what Fontignac is.
On the other hand, the Chinese food has a thick plate 0,4-0,5 mm or Turkish 0.7mm, the sheet has been turned over on the edge of the pot and the lids on the glass-metal joints will rust in particular, plastic handles crumble, or the screws holding the handles rust, but it's Chinese as I mentioned.
Metal handles are not a disadvantage – they do not heat up too much and thanks to this you can put the pot into the oven and they will not burn or crumble after a few years. They are welded to a thick sheet, not to a thin one, as in the case of the Chinese.
White stains remain on pots after boiling potatoes or broth and washing them in the dishwasher. You have to take Cif milk and clean inside and outside or do not wash it in the dishwasher, wash it in the sink with a rough sponge. Every now and then (2 times a year) they also need to be polished with this Cif milk. Do not clean the pan with Teflon coating in the dishwasher!!! Stir with a wooden spoon, and after use, wipe the bottom with a dry paper towel. If we made a sauce, wash it with a sponge and washing-up liquid, wipe dry and give a few drops of oil and rub on the Teflon coating and the pan to the wardrobe. Generally, like Teflon, it is not a dishwasher and does not cut in a pan.
You should make sure that you do not cook in a pot without water because it will discolour permanently. You can clean it, but you don't have to mechanically polish it by hand and the pot is not the same anymore. A lid without a hole is not a defect, It sticks closely to the edge of the pot, thanks to which it cooks faster, but after boiling, you need to reduce the flame so that they only slightly puff. How can you slide the lid at an angle and cook with a slit.
Our Olkusz offers similar pots, but I don't know the thickness of the steel (and I didn't see them with my eyes, but they are too cheap, I think, thin steel does not specify the thickness and quality of steel 18/10 some other metal alloy), then the plastic handles and the hopeless fixing of handles in the lids, similar is also produced by the Turkish Ambition ale “Turkey” they are made of steel 0,7 mm ( good steel too – I have a set of cutlery and they are like new and the Chinese ones are black after half a year of washing in the dishwasher, but it was definitely not steel 18/10).
There are no other pots at reasonable prices. So much for pots that were and are in my kitchen.
