Homemade casserole

Homemade casserole

Last Sunday I was returning home in the late afternoon. Autumn at its best, temperature quite low, and after switching to winter time, even the last sun was gone. And get over here man get to cooking! Fortunately, for some time we have been thinking about making some homemade fast food at home. I chose the casseroles. Luckily it happened, that you can always count on fresh baguettes in one of the nearby supermarkets, so I used it and brought home all the ingredients I needed.

The very preparation of casseroles at home takes just over half an hour, so it's fast food when it comes to homemade food. The ingredients are readily available and if you don't count the baguette, it happens more than once, that everything, what is necessary at home without even going shopping.

Ingredients per serving for 3 people:

  • baguette
  • mushrooms – about 20 day
  • half a pepper (any color)
  • tomato concentrate – 5 teaspoons
  • medium-sized onion
  • minced meat – about 150g
  • blok evening mozzarrella – about 20 day
  • salt, pepper, basil, oregano

Minced meat can be replaced with finely chopped chicken. It is also possible, just like us, mix minced meat and chicken together. Personally, I prefer the version with only ground, but Marta always insists on the poultry version. This time we just compromised.

The cheese may be different, but not everyone melts well. We recommend mozzarrella in the block, but we strongly advise you to stay away from any ready-made, already staged pizza cheeses. Their composition most often indicates this, that we are dealing only with a cheese-like product.

We also like to add green olives to the ingredients. They are optional, but they give the stuffing a nice aftertaste.

Heat the lard in a frying pan. Put the washed and sliced mushrooms into the pan and salt, while reducing the gas yes, so that they do not clog up. They should let go of the water. We wait for most of the water to evaporate, then add the finely chopped onion. When they got translucent, we throw in the meat, peppers and any olives. When the meat is ready, add tomato paste to the stuffing, pepper, basil and oregano.

Cut the baguette into three parts and cut each of them in half lengthwise. We will get six pieces. Of course, you can make four longer ones, but they are hard to hold and do not fit on the plate. In such prepared casserole bases, squash the flesh, so that there is a cavity, which we then fill with stuffing. Finally, sprinkle everything with stark mozzarrel and put it in the preheated oven 200 degrees.

The casseroles are ready, when the cheese melts on them and is lightly browned. Enjoy your meal!
