NEW YEAR'S EVE

This is not always the case, that we are going to a ball or a restaurant on that day. Not all of them are amateurs of dancing all night long. So we dream more and more often an intimate evening with our relatives, interesting conversation and something good to eat. The nicest prop of such a meeting is a fireplace - a crackling fire, nice warmth bring this special, a little reflective mood, and a very appropriate moment for that… Well, not everyone is a happy fireplace owner, and even there are no such friends. So you have to think about other solutions, that could set the mood for the evening. And he is the only one in the year anyway, and Christmas Eve, although it has a poorer tradition, it is also more conducive to talks, after all, it ends some stage of life. It is not a good evening for singles. It is worth remembering this, when we invite guests.
We do not invite you to an early hour - the best time is 21 -22-ga. It is a nice habit to invite your guests before dinner, e.g.. to a concert or to the theater, and then home. You know, that there is always a lively discussion after a performance, which we usually have to brutally interrupt in the locker room. And so, at least let this evening provide us with a pleasant conversation, uninterrupted. The secret of a successful New Year's Eve is the selection of the right people. I am not thinking of bells and whistles - they should be people who are close to each other, friends, who have similar interests, tolerant. For the lady of the house, arranging New Year's Eve is always an effort, which, however, thanks to good organization, can be a great pleasure. Let's show our holiday house this evening, decorated, with a romantic atmosphere.

In a room, where we receive guests - if there is no longer a Christmas tree - we place a lot of candles, ikebana composed of fir or spruce branches, red apples, mistletoe, gilded cones. A spruce wreath decorated with mistletoe will be a beautiful decoration under the chandelier, long, dangling ribbons, bells or baubles. If we decide to go to the buffet table, we set it not centrally, just more to the side, covering with one large tablecloth or several smaller ones of the same color, but yes, to reach the floor; pin small spruce twigs at the joining points, pine cones or colorful stars. The decorative trail along the entire table looks nice too, which may run through the middle, diagonally or occupy the entire edge of the table. A beautiful background for such a trail is green or silvery moss (arranged on a strip of cardboard or card stock), in which we stick various decorative elements.

Food and drinks must be prepared in advance, any jogging to the kitchen, additional cooking and frying will scare the mood, will invoke type comments: “How she gets tired, and we have fun”. This has to be avoided.

Typical New Year's Eve dishes can be prepared in advance without any harm to them. You need to collect the right amount of dishes (possibly borrow) the day before and either set on the buffet table, or in the kitchen at hand. Have plenty of glass ready, appropriate glasses, including specials for champagne, and glasses for punch. Punch in many homes in the West is served as a traditional New Year's Eve drink at midnight. Champagne is more common here (traffic jam shots are not without significance here), but the lit punch vase also looks very effective. You can, moreover, combine both, serving punch over champagne, then we have a gunshot, and champagne, i poncz. If, however, a pearled cup is kinder to us at midnight, We can serve the punch immediately after the guests arrive for the warm-up or after 12 o'clock, after toasts and wishes, that he would accompany us at good times, quiet chat. We'll serve something hot a few hours after midnight, e.g.. traditional bigos, red borscht or pure mushroom soup with patties, dumplings or sticks.

Traditional New Year's Eve baking are donuts and angel wings. We can fry the angel wings in the morning, but the best donuts are still a little warm. Frying them takes time, So I don't want to persuade anyone. That it would, however, follow the tradition, I will remind you, that donuts were fried mostly at home.

And that's probably all. Maybe one more note; if we are to dance, it is better to allocate a second room for this and agree it with the neighbors who live below us. Don't let our nice dancing New Year's Eve be a nightmare for others, about what, unfortunately, we do not remember very often.
