Drinks A&W;

A long time ago, in the twenties of the twentieth century, in the United States, a fast food chain called A was opened&W. Restaurants were famous for root beer served from frozen mugs and were said to be the first chain of this type, which was successful. At least that's what Wikipedia says, because let's be honest: in Poland, practically no one has heard of such restaurants.

A&They serve, among others, the aforementioned root beer, today, however, the brand belongs to Dr.. Pepper/Seven Up Inc. And no wonder, that you can buy soda cans almost anywhere… as long as you live in the United States.

Fortunately, Poles are not geese, They also have their importers and from time to time, more interesting foreign potions find their way to store shelves – in this case, it was the soda department in Peter and Paul. There were two drinks: one is the aforementioned root beer, and the other is something with an intriguing name Cream Soda.

Cream Soda

Of course, we start the tasting with our nose. You can smell a strong vanilla in the aroma of the drink, even a candy aroma. After a few sips we find, that the taste of the drink is exactly as it is indicated on the packaging – it is creamy with very distinct vanilla notes. Feel, that the flavor is artificial, but not "chemical", will remind this one, which is added to vanilla cotton candy or Coca-Cola vanilla. In general, the taste of this drink can be described as a liquid vanilla fudge. Cream Soda is moderately saturated with carbon dioxide, so the bubbles don't sting the throat; he is also very cute, it is very pleasant to drink, but it is more of a drink to be "painted over" and enjoyed, it can even replace a bar or chocolate, so it's not something, with which you can quench your thirst.

Root Beer

At the very beginning, it should be noted, that the name can be a bit confusing (especially for people who do not know English very much), because it's not a beer (does not contain malt extract), and only a non-alcoholic cooling drink. What can be felt most strongly in it "at the first glance of the nose" are herbal notes, that bring to mind ... toothpaste. After trying it, you can conclude, however, that this aftertaste is only in the background, because it stands out at the first, similar to a cream drink, vanilla flavor. The taste of this product is a bit like cough syrup; he is also very cute, this aftertaste remains in the mouth for a long time, but the sweetness and herbal notes are contrasted well enough, that Root Beer can be considered quite refreshing. This drink, too, is moderately saturated with carbon dioxide, the bubbles are rather large, but not irritating.

The calorific value of both drinks is the same and amounts to 170 kcal in a 355-milliliter can, both are unfortunately also preserved with sodium benzoate.

As I don't like root beer, I would only buy Cream Soda again (you have to admit, that he is very "girly"). Dominik preferred the refreshing Root Beer. We will probably reach for both drinks again.
