Krako Slow Wines

Krako Slow Wines

Today we do not want to eat very plentifully - too warm! But we would drink a good wine - but which one to buy, since the two of me like dry red, and my fiance white sweet? Buy two bottles - too much drunk, we only want one glass. We would also eat something light, however, no fridge, nor the numerous cookbooks collected tell us anything interesting. The decision is made - we go to the winery! Luckily, we live near Krako Slow Wines, which is located in one of the old factory halls on ul. Lipowa.

We are not great wine experts, that's why we rely on the advice of a very nice waiter (although I would rather call him "the host", due to this, how he cares about his guests). My fiance recommends the gentle Muskat from Romania, very refreshing, and me the red Armenian Vernaschen, slightly richer in taste, but refreshing at the same time - a good choice for a hot evening. Otherwise, Krako Slow Wines offers wines mainly from Georgia, Czech, Slovakia, Hungarian, and also from Polish wineries, which is a good alternative. If we like a drink, we can buy the whole bottle at once. In addition, the offer includes brandy, palinki, honey and ciders.

My fiance, as a native Krakus, he could not refuse to try a Krakow sandwich, I decide on a shop salad - I was once on vacation in Bulgaria and I remember this dish as the tastiest dish. Additionally, of course, espresso. The menu has something for everyone - there are also vegan dishes, vegetarian, and for amateurs of more homely flavors, a slice of lard, borscht and sausages, for even proziaki imported from Rzeszów.

We sit down at a table on the mezzanine, so we have a view of the whole place. I like the bright interior, subdued colors and modern furniture. There are wine shelves along the walls, there are pictures and maps hanging. It doesn't feel overwhelmed, which for me is a huge advantage of this place.
We only wait a few moments for the order. I start with espresso - it's quite strong, I sense a lot of bitterness. The Krakow sandwich is a fresh bagel with lettuce, red pepper and cottage cheese (so, cottage cheese, and not nitrogen loosened cheese).

I would like to focus a little on the bagel here, because, unfortunately, it's hard to find a good one in Krakow - they are usually hard, rubbery or dry, and this one was just fresh, with a crispy crust and a soft center, tylko trochę obsypany średnio zmieloną solą. Sałata shopska za to podbiła moje serce i podniebienie – świeże pomidory, cucumbers, paprika and some red onions, and excellent, crumbly cheese, slightly salty (apparently imported specially from Bulgaria - I do not know, how much truth is there, at least I liked it very much) and coarsely ground pepper, that's good, dark bread.

Perfect place for a date (but I recommend the shop salad only to long-term couples, because of the onion, whose smell is not too… tempting). Tables ensure discretion, prices relative to the quality - just a nice and unpretentious place in Zabłocie. We will definitely come back!
