Matias fillets in sauce for Easter

Matias fillets in sauce for Easter

Herring in cream traditionally appears on festive tables, as well as country herring with marjoram. Polish cuisine is also famous for dishes originating from specific regions of our country, e.g.. from herring salad with Kashubian prunes - after all, fish are the basis of Kashubian cuisine.

So a perfect idea for an Easter dish is herring, which, moreover, very often appears on Christmas tables in Poland. Not only does it taste great, but moreover, it is simple and cheap to prepare.

EASTER HERRING IN THE DREAM

ingredients:

  • 250 grams of matias fillets,
  • an apple of medium size
  • onion
  • 300 g of cream
  • spoon of apple cider vinegar
  • spoon of lemon juice
  • a teaspoon of ground pepper
  • a teaspoon of sugar
  • salt

Soak herring fillets in water for three hours, then dry and cut into not too small pieces. Peel the apple and onion and cut into small cubes, then sprinkle with lemon juice. Then mix the cream and vinegar in a bowl, sugar, salt and pepper, adding onions and an apple, and finally herring. This simple dish is best when chilled, served with bread, but herring in cream can also be served with hard-boiled eggs, cut into halves.
