Regional dishes prepared according to traditional recipes are extremely appreciated today, Kashubian cuisine is particularly noteworthy, which is based on fish dishes. In addition to the fish soup, fried and stewed fish in different ways, this region is also famous for its herring salad with plums and apples with a very original, expressive taste.

How to prepare such a dish?

RECIPE FOR HERRING WITH PLUMS

ingredients:

  • jar of herring in tarragon pickle
  • 10 plums
  • 3 apples in a medium-sized peel
  • 50 g of walnuts
  • 2 spoons of mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons of natural yogurt
  • salt

The herring should first be well drained from the brine, and then cut into strips about one centimeter wide. Cut the plums in half lengthwise, apples into medium-sized cubes, while the nuts are coarsely chopped. All ingredients must be thoroughly mixed, adding mayonnaise and yoghurt and season with salt as desired.

MATIASY AFTER KASHUBIAN IN SPHERE

ingredients:

  • 3 medium-sized onions
  • 10 prunes
  • 2 spoons of raisins
  • half a cup of olive oil or oil
  • half a teaspoon of hot pepper powder
  • half a teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
  • half a teaspoon of dried thyme

First pour the herring fillets with cold water and soak for about an hour, then drain, dry and cut into smaller pieces. Pour boiling water over the plums and raisins and set aside for a few minutes, to soften, then drain on a strainer. After peeling, cut the onions into slices, while the paprika is in powder, pepper and thyme must be mixed with olive oil.

When all ingredients are ready, we arrange them alternately in layers in a jar. Pour it all over with olive oil and set aside to the minimum 12 hours in a cool place. After this time, the salad is ready to serve - it tastes best with bread.
