Przysnacki crisps

Some time ago we were shopping for "all week". Between the shelves of the store we found a hostess offering chips of an unknown brand: "Przysnacki". They even turned out to be interesting, so we decided to stock up on a few packages and describe the impressions.

"Przysnacki" was launched by Intersnack, so far we know better from the sale of puffs and puffs as well as Felix nuts. We chose three of the six flavors of chips for tasting (these were just available): rosemary, onion and ham. The other three are peppers, bacon and garlic. The latter two are sold as fluted chips.

Rosemary. A slight disappointment. The chips contain rosemary and thyme, but you can't smell them or smell them, nor taste. Only when we pack a ball of chips into our mouth, we will feel a delicate herbal aftertaste. To, which, unfortunately, you feel the most, is the taste of potato with oil. The chips are fairly not salty, though slightly spicy.

green onion. The chips smell like powdered onions, that you can actually taste, they also contain parsley. They are a bit saltier, and their taste does not dominate that of potatoes. The taste of powdered tomatoes is also noticeable, added for color enhancement.

Country ham. These chips have a strong smoky flavor, in fact, they are more like bacon, than hams. They are not salty, but their taste is very distinct, it is good to eat them in small portions.

Dominik: For hop drink lovers, I advise against the ham version. The smoked meats taste is so strong and lingers in the mouth for so long, that it will eclipse, or at least it will distort the taste of the beer. Green onions would be a much better choice here.

I think, that it is also worth adding three words about the composition and calorific value. We were hopefull, that the chips you buy are "healthier" than most brands available on the market, however, after taking a look at the nutritional table, we changed our mind. In 100g of chips, we will find exactly the same, what's up with the competition, or 35g of fat (for comparison, Lay's peppers are 30g), 48g of carbohydrates, 1,8-2g of salt and about 60g of protein. The calorific value of such pleasure is absolutely not different from the competition 542-544 kcal.

The ingredients are relatively nice, most of them can be found without consulting a chemistry textbook. Sure, we cannot avoid such things as "natural aroma", or "spice" (whatever it was), and in the ham version, of course, we can find the aroma of smoking smoke (hence the smoked aftertaste, by the way), but the dye is already paprika extract (E160c – but don't panic, is a natural extract, and even beneficial to health, though a bit spicy in taste), and only in the onion version we have the flavor enhancer in the form of monosodium glutamate. However, all the packages contained yeast extract, a healthier flavor enhancer, not requiring marking with the symbol E. Fat it, as it usually happens in crisps, Palm oil – cheap and unhealthy due to the high content of saturated fatty acids. But just because of the fat, we expected the worst anyway, so there is no surprise.

summarizing, Przysnacki does not cut off four letters, except for those flavored with country ham, they do not taste as distinct as those of the most popular brands available on our market. But if we bought them as a party accessory, will calmly fulfill their role.
